Is the 2021 Kimmswick Apple Butter Festival still on? Yes!

A year after the coronavirus pandemic forced the cancellation of the 2020 event, the 2021 Apple Butter Festival in Kimmswick is on, organizers confirmed Monday, Sept. 20.

The festival, held on the last full weekend in October each year, is set for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 30-31 — and Kimmswick Candle Co. will be there.

Offering our signature all-natural soy wax candles in a variety of seasonal favorites and everyday scents, Kimmswick Candle Co. will have a tent set up on Market Street, near the Apple Butter Pavilion and across from the Kimmswick Visitors Center.

Among the fall scents we're offering is our signature Apple Butter pint mason candle.

The annual two-day festival is Kimmswick’s largest event of the year, attracting up to 100,000 visitors to the historic river town and its merchants, restaurants and hundreds of vendors, offering everything from handcrafted goods to apple butter, the festival’s namesake.

Proceeds from the Apple Butter Festival and June's Strawberry Festival make up 80% of the town’s working revenue, the city reported on its website. When the events were canceled in 2020, Kimmswick reached out to the community for help.

Located in northern Jefferson County, Kimmswick is home to popular restaurants The Blue Owl Restaurant & Bakery and The Dough Depot, as well as retailers Cozy Cottage, Sparrow + Mason, Mississippi Mud Gallery & Gifts and more.
